WCU: Placed eighth in the pole vault and heptathlon in indoor his freshman season...Finished fifth in the javelin and decathlon in outdoor in 2004.
High School: Was the 6AAAA Region pole vault champion in 2003 and a two-time Georgia Games champion in the javelin... Finished in fourth place at the state meet in the pole vault and fifth at the Alabama Meet of Champions in the javelin in 2003... Finished second at the USATF Georgia Championships in the decathalon in 2002... Personal-best marks of 148-9 in the javelin and 12-6 in the pole vault... Was a member of the 2001 cross country squad that finished third at the Georgia AAA meet and second place at the Georgia AAAA meet in 2002... Is the high school's record-holder in the pole vault... Was a team co-captain for the cross country team in 2002 and the track and field team in 2003.
